Wolfowitz Says Iraq 'Temporary' Layover Could Last Years

Washington Post: Wolfowitz Says Iraq Stay Could Last YearsWolfowitz is now saying the temporary layover in Iraq could last "years". The time-line keeps getting longer doesn't it folks? Pretty soon the figures may stretch into decades, and I'm surprised they had the guts to fess up before the election.

It seems to me that is what I have been saying all along. Can you imagine how many headless bodies there will be by that time? So let me see... there is at least one body showing up every week or so, and if my math is correct... well, you figure it out and that doesn't even take into account all of the soldiers coming home in body bags.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm not an anti-war left-wing nut, BUT the fact is this war is a losing battle. Thanks to technology, never before in the history of mankind have so few been able to cause so much mayhem.

You cannot defeat an enemy you can't find and whose ruthlessness has been bred into it's culture for thousands of years. They have had more practice and are much better at it than we could ever be. Besides, if we even tried to be as barbaric as they are we would no longer have the moral high ground would we?

Face it - it's a lose/lose proposition and they know it. A so-called clean surgical war and the Geneva Convention are out the window on this one. Let's re-think this now before any more people have to to die.
